It’s critical to the outcomes in your life.

Get mad easily? Here are 8 things you can do to keep calm and carry on!

Disconnect

According to studies, staying away from social media and technology lowers your stress levels, improves your productivity and makes you happier. Emotionally intelligent people understand the essence of finding time to organize their thoughts and disconnect from irrelevant messages or information that add no value to their lives.

They dial back on coffee

Drinking more than 500 mg of caffeine a day increases anxiety. Dialing back on coffee and reducing caffeine intake will help you retain a calm disposition. Emotionally intelligent pursue healthy living because they understand how important their mental state is to their success.

They stay in touch with their emotions

They know where their strengths are when it comes to dealing with difficult situations. They raise their emotional awareness and don’t dabble into activities that trigger their anxiety or get their adrenaline going. Instead, they take part in activities that improve their confidence and makes them feel better about who they are.

They are thankful for what they have

They don’t focus on what they don’t have. This only leads to more negativity. They stay grateful. Having an attitude of gratitude is what life is about.

They relax

Relaxing is relative. Emotionally intelligent people spend more time with loved ones, themselves and doing the things they enjoy. It can be listening to soothing music, taking a hike or just take a break from gadgets. Bottom line, they know how to unplug.

They find outlets for their frustrations

Got anger? Learn to find an outlet for your frustrations. No one is to blame for your pissy mood but yourself. Staying calm through stressful situations takes practice. Lean to channel your bad moods through activities.

They remain positive

Yes it can be hard to stay positive when you’re faced with pressure and disappointment. But through clarity of the mind, EI people always know things are working in their favor.

They focus on what they can control

There are a lot of things that are out of your control. You can’t determine how the day’s weather will be so why fuss about it? Being in control means recognizing what is within your control and sticking to attaining success at those things. There’s no greatness in sweating over the small stuff since it only adds to your anxiety.
